Yes, 15 months...wait for it...Wow, time is flying by! (You knew we were going to say that, right?!?)
OK, so first, here's a great snapshot of M and her godsisters at the Mt. Holly Cider Days Festival in Vermont...ummm...yeah, she's the oh-so-ladylike one:
And, here's our girl on her 15-month birthday - getting cuter by the day (again with the ladylike features and poses, no?!?):
Now, while there's no lacking in the cuteness department, M has not been setting the world on fire when it comes to sleep...ugh! She's apparently learned that when you wake up at 3am, going back to sleep is an "option" not a necessity. We are actively working to break her of that habit (she's kicking our butts, but we're not letting her know it!).
So, we've taken to trying to wear her out (lots of running around, playground time and swimming) and finding diversions...like:
STEPS!
FANTASY FOOTBALL (mental exercise)!
and a seasonal favorite PUMPKIN AEROBICS!
We'll keep you all posted on who wins the sleep battle(s)...on that note, I have to go work on M's Halloween costume...better run.
Boo to you!

Harvest on Henry Festival
We learned that M likes petting zoos, loves baby cows and is a bit wary of full grown cows! Too big!!!
Wait until we get to VT...

14 Months: Walking, Talking, Exploring...
So, 14 months have come and (quickly!) gone. M is now 32.5" tall ("off the charts" apparently...we call her Minute), weighs 22 lbs 7 oz (70th percentile) and has an 18.5" noggin (90th percentile). More importantly, she's mobile...and we mean MOBILE.
A few staggered steps turned into excited ramblings and running which has now progressed to speed walking across the room, the house, the yard (you name it) all day long. She's quite proud of herself...and we are beaming.
This newfound motion and movement comes at a time when exploration and curiosity are at all time highs. A few cases in point...
First, she was mesmerized by Uncle Shaun during a recent visit:
Next, she continues to branch out and try new foods - one of her favorite end-of-summer past times has been devouring whole ears of corn...yummy:
She's also giving us fleeting glimpses of her possible future careers - exciting!
We think she has found her calling as a vet - she even tries to make faces just like her patients (in this case, Trevor):
OK, maybe not a vet, but a pet masseuse?:
Trevor likes that plan and has taken to paying her with doggie kisses:
If the pet services don't pan out, she has a bright future as a Comcast tech:
She's also excited about interior design (nice end table, Pop-Pop!):
If none of those pan out, she can always become a robot astronaut (this is her 14-month photo, actually...snapped at the Mt. Airy Village Fair):
No matter what her calling in life, we are calling her A-DOR-ABLE these days!
Explorator-ily,
K, J, M, T & T

Back to Normal...
Thankfully (!), Hurricane Irene spared us and so we actually had some weekend family time this morning instead of having to do clean up and house projects.
We, of course, used this time to eat! Well, we really used it to go to the Italian Market where M had her first Sarcone's roll. HEAVEN!
She wasn't so sure about the eels and the frogs at the Asian Market. ;-)
Happy Saturday!

Home safely
Someone is VERY hungry after a long travel day.
Happy to be home, but hope to be heading back to VT in two days after Irene is a big non-event.
Stay safe, all!
Aug. 26 - Something wicked this way (maybe) comes
Eerily gorgeous this morning in VT, but given the isolation and weather forecast back home we reluctantly piled into the car to trek back to Phila.

Lucky 13 (Months)
Celebrated with our big girl at the zoo.
Hard to tell what M liked better - the monkeys or hanging out with Daddy!

Someone made her first trip to NYC
And even with downpours and deluges, she LOVED it!
Of course, she got to have brunch at a trendy SoHo eatery and then got to play on the "Big" piano at FAO Schwarz...heaven!

Before and Afters...Kitchen Edition
Before (Settlement Day - these photos don't do it justice. Let's just say that we ripped everything out IMMEDIATELY because that was a far better option than cleaning/touching anything!):
Before (Our "Kitchen" for Year One! Check out the sink (now our laundry tub in the basement). Swanky & gourmet, no???):
During (Demolition & Architectural Restructuring):
Main/original kitchen
Butler's pantry
After (finished July 2011 - finally!):
