Lots o' Happenings...

It's been a few weeks, so here are some fun updates. First, we had a fun and festive Memorial Day weekend, where M tried her hand at mini golf for the first time (a BIG fan!). She loved it and K had TWO holes in one, but M was the only witness...

There was lots of eating and ice cream, too!

Then, "real life" intervened and K had some moles removed (so far, all clear). 

M has started really getting into the cooking - she is a sous chef extraordinaire! 

Then, we had the last day of school at GFS (June 12, 2014). M got flowers for being such a great student and so excited about school. (Note the yellow flowers - her favorite!)

And then T was 11! Happy birthday to our first baby.

Lansdale Park Day with GrandMomMom

M had tons of fun and was worn out at the end of the day...we hope to have half the energy of GrandMomMom (who didn't sit for more than 10 mins out of 3+ hours!) when we are 90...heck, even now!!

Mother's Day - Amendment 1

My wonderful husband went to tuck in M 15 minutes ago..."tuckered" is more like it!

They are both gently snoring away. Maybe I should've stopped at 4 hours of family gardening?!?

Happy Mother's Day!

Our tradition continues...

First, we had a great family breakfast at the Trolley Car Diner, then went on a garden, flower, plant and vegetable shopping adventure and followed up our morning with 7+ hours of manual labor in the gorgeous sunshine.

After a low key dinner (made sure to have enough yummy leftovers so no one would have to cook!), it's time for a Lillet and an episode of House of Cards - simple pleasures!

Thank you to my amazing husband for making this day so wonderful and for (literally!!!) moving one ton of black mulch today. Love you, J!

She did great on the plane, but traveling is tough work!

Spring is here!

So is M's full-on girly phase apparently. Wish us luck!!!

But, she is willing to get that beautiful mani/pedi dirty in the garden. :-)

Spring Fun

We've been celebrating the end of M's spring break and the warmer weather with fun times...

Exhibit A - play date with M. We made chocolate dipped chickie cookies!

Then, we went exploring and saw some of spring's first blooms!

Finally, M went to a class mate's birthday party and donned ice skates for the first time. We even made it around the rink a few times!

Spring Break - Staycation Style

After a few gorgeous, snow-filled days in VT and a road trip day yesterday, K and M hung out at home today. 

Cupcakes were the order of the day!

Back on Skis

Day 2 on skis - did a lot of "scooter" style shuffling around on one ski. 

Then, we got one nice stretch of about 15 feet of gliding. 

Once she did that, she said, "Ok. I'm good. We're done."

So, yeah, we rented full-on ski gear for 45 mins. :-)

Totally worth it!

Happy Holi Day

A classmate of M's is 1/2 Indian and her Mom has been great about introducing foods, festivals and stories to the kids. Today is a prime example - Holi!

Holi is apparently a festival of joy in which the spring / agriculture is celebrated. We do this by getting together and throwing all kinds of colored flour on one another. You can imagine how much 3 year olds LOVE this.

Vermont!!!

K and M are up in VT for a weekend trip with the C family of Boston. So...much...snow! Literally mounds 10' high in front of the cabin. 

To kick off the weekend, we had a yummy breakfast at The Hatchery then did some grocery shopping. After some lunch, we went to a family favorite - Taylor Farm in Londonderry for a horse-drawn sleigh ride, a bonfire and some marshmallows. 

It is Maple Sugar Festival weekend, too, so we had to sample some syrup and - of course! - get a maple cremee. 

A wonderfully fun day was had by all!

1st Trip to the Disney Store...

...and we made it out in one piece!

M was great - love, love, loved all the Mickey stuff and was definitely overwhelmed at first - I think her exact words were "Oh my wow."

But, she got into a groove and proceeded to play with every toy for a few minutes over the next hour or so. 

We went in with the goal of getting out of there with ONLY two new pairs of PJs. We made it out with one pair of PJs and one small stuffed doll (Anna from Frozen, who M calls Princess Charmie as most of you know). So...a victory for both M and Mom. :-)

Here she is reveling in all the Disney glory when we walked through the door:

One after-effect -- she is now belting out (and I mean BELTING!) "Let it Go" from Frozen on a perpetual loop. Thanks, Disney.

All snow and no play...

...makes for NO February blog posts. Sorry guys! March is here and (hopefully!) spring is around the corner, so we will post more pics and updates.
